Have a listen to 'Chattanooga Choo Choo' from rehearsals today for our concert 'Mass In Blue' on Saturday 4th July at Wimborne Minster (details on Concerts page).

It was a real achievement to sing that Rheinberger mass unaccompanied. Considering that it is written for two choirs, and must look very intricate on paper, it actually sounded tuneful and uncomplicated and had an appealing sense of 'momentum'.

There was an excellent variety of pieces within the programme.

It was a real bonus to make use of the organ.

Some very kind words of appreciation from an organist who attended our March concert in Wareham.

"I was very impressed with the excellent concert on Saturday. With the inclement weather, I very nearly didn't go to Wareham. That would have been a bad mistake!

The Ireland piece made the perfect conclusion to the concert (the Abendlied being a very appropriate extra). It sounded like a very large choir in a cathedral."

If you have not yet heard the Orlando Singers, why not see if you agree at our next concert on 25th April?

TESTIMONIALS

"What a really lovely evening of truly excellent music. Such beautiful singing and a wonderful programme.
Please pass on my congratulations to the whole choir and your brilliant conductor."

"A challenging programme that showed the choir's depth of skill to great advantage".

Jonathan

writing about our 'An affair with God' concert

" For me, the highlight of the evening was the mass for double choir by Martin: it totally absorbed me. Magnificent."

Robert

writing about our 'An affair with God' concert

“Wow! What an amazing range of music - from traditional Bach, through sumptuous Mendelssohn to the challenges of 20th century composer Frank Martin. This chamber choir were more than up to the challenges, and produced a fantastic sound throughout the performance. The Martin mass is known for its trip wires of constantly changing time and key signatures, and harmonically clashing notes, but the members of the double choirs seemed unfazed under Sam Hanson’s nimble musical direction. An invigorating musical evening in an otherwise rather quiet and sleepy Fordingbridge."
